Alentejo

Alentejo is a south-central region of Portugal separated from the rest of Portugal by the Tagus River, and extends to the south where it borders the Algarve.

Centrally located and easily accessible by motorway, Evora is a fascinating city with several attractions, including an ancient Roman Temple “The Diana Temple”, the Cathedral from the XII century and the university dating back to 1559.

Also enchanting is the town of Estremoz, famous for its Castle from the XIII century. Alentejo pre-historic past is evident from the many existing dolmens and stone circles throughout the region.
